As such it offers a broad range of material that is quite comprehensive. As is typical of books of this type, however, there is considerable variation in the quality of the writing from essay to essay. For reasons that I have never understood, many academics write poorly.

The essays in this Handbook, written by an international team of distinguished scholars, combine to explore the way in which fascism is understood by contemporary scholarship, as well as pointing to areas of continuing dispute and discussion.
